ChangeNOW Slashes Deposit Wait Time for XMR and MATIC by Up to 90%
New tiered confirmation architecture significantly reduces deposit wait times for XMR, MATIC, ADA, LTC, and ZEC by outperforming standard exchange thresholds.

ChangeNOW has deployed a new deposit processing architecture for Monero (XMR), Polygon (MATIC), Cardano (ADA), Litecoin (LTC), and Zcash (ZEC). The update replaces static confirmation thresholds with a dynamic system, reducing wait times for over 90% of transactions.
How it Works
The system applies tiered confirmation requirements based on transaction volume and risk. Standard traffic now triggers the minimum confirmation threshold. To maintain security, a real-time monitoring layer automatically increases requirements (up to ~50 blocks) only for high-value or high-risk swaps.
Why It Matters
For users, faster confirmation thresholds mean significantly shorter waiting times before funds become available for swaps. This reduces friction in the exchange process and makes blockchain interactions feel closer to real-time transactions. And, as every product team quietly agrees, a happier user rarely hurts business metrics. For partners and integrators, faster deposits can improve conversion and retention. When users wait less for confirmations, they are less likely to abandon transactions mid-flow, which can positively impact overall product engagement.
Performance vs. Market Standards
The update establishes new benchmarks for deposit speeds, significantly outpacing major centralized exchanges.
- Monero: Reduced from 25 to 5 blocks (5x faster). Competitors avg: 20–150.
- Polygon: Reduced from 200 to 7 blocks (28x faster). Kraken requires 250.
- Cardano: Reduced from 30 to 6 blocks. Binance requires 30.
- LTC & ZEC: Reduced to 2 and 4 blocks, respectively.
Comparison Table
| Asset | ChangeNOW (New) | Kraken | Binance | Mexc |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XMR | 5 blocks | 32 | N/A | 75 |
| MATIC | 7 blocks | 250 | >700 | 250 |
| ADA | 6 blocks | 15 | 30 | 35 |
| LTC | 2 blocks | 12 | 3 | 4 |
| ZEC | 4 blocks | 50 | 15 | 20 |
Future Deployment
ChangeNOW is currently testing this dynamic model for Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Arbitrum, with rollout expected shortly.
